About more and better homes
The North of England is facing a chronic shortage of housing. This is holding back economic growth, redevelopment and opportunities for Northern regions, town and cities.
We can turn this around, but only with a clear strategy, partnership with government and concerted action. That is why we have published our Plan for More and Better Homes in the North.
Our Plan will place housing associations at the heart of new local delivery partnerships that would add £3.9 billion to the Northern economy; deliver 42,920 new homes; regenerate 80 communities; and create 59,000 jobs.
This is a long-term Plan to build Northern capacity for economic growth and greater opportunity in communities across the North. Our Plan will complement our ambition to invest in new homes to make them warmer, drier, greener, and more affordable.
Our Plan for More and Better Homes in the North will deliver for the economy, provide the new affordable homes people need and help to regenerate communities across the North.
