For the Northern Powerhouse to rebalance the economy, an integrated approach to housing is required; if housing is not included as part of the infrastructure of future development, the lack of suitable housing could act as a brake on economic growth In order to fulfil this economic potential and accommodate the North’s future workforce, a further two million homes will be needed across the North by 2050.
